Is cash still widely used?
Cash is the only option. North Korea is one of the most isolated countries in the world, and foreign card infrastructure does not exist. The very small number of permitted tourists are required to use state-approved tour operators and pay in EUR, USD, or CNY.
ATMs and withdrawing cash
No ATM infrastructure for foreign visitors. Bring all necessary foreign currency as directed by your approved tour operator.
