Is cash still widely used?
Yes. Guinea is predominantly cash-based. Markets, local transport, restaurants, guesthouses, and most businesses require Guinean franc cash. Conakry has minimal card acceptance at a small number of international hotels.
ATMs and withdrawing cash
ATMs are available in Conakry. Ecobank and BICIGUI machines accept some foreign cards.
