Is cash still widely used?
Cash is the only option. Comoros is almost entirely cash-based with minimal financial infrastructure for foreign visitors. EUR is widely accepted given the franc’s peg to the euro.
ATMs and withdrawing cash
Very limited ATM access for foreign cards. BIC Comores occasionally accepts foreign cards in Moroni.

Card acceptance
Very low. A small number of hotels in Moroni may accept cards. Cash is required everywhere else.

- The islands have extraordinary marine biodiversity and coelacanth sightings
- EUR is practical given the fixed exchange rate
- Anjouan and Mohéli islands are even more remote — bring ample cash
