Is cash still widely used?
Yes. Angola is predominantly cash-based. Local markets, transport, restaurants, and most businesses require kwanza cash. USD is also widely accepted in Luanda and tourist-facing businesses. Mobile money is growing but not accessible to foreign visitors.
ATMs and withdrawing cash
ATMs are available in Luanda. BFA and BPC machines sometimes accept foreign cards, but reliability is inconsistent.
